Other Tours:
The Forbidden City And Imperial Palace
The largest and grandest Imperial Palace ever built is the
9,999 room centerpiece of Beijing's famed and infamous Forbidden
City, built in 1420. The City and Palace were the home and
seat of power for several emperors including their families,
military and political staffs and administrative personnel.
In Splendid China, the Imperial Palace has been reproduced
stone-by-stone, tile-by-tile and brush stroke by tiny brush
stroke.
Quin Shihuang Exibit
In 1974, one of the world's major archaeological discoveries
was made with the uncovering of over 8,000 life-sized and
individually carved statues of soldiers and horses. An overwhelming
example of ancient excesses and sweeping Imperial power, the
statuary army was a guard of honor for the spirit of Quin
Shihuang, protecting both his memory and his mausoleum. It
also remains as an unexcelled ancient military museum.
The Leshan Grand Buddha Statue
Standing roughly the same height as a 23-story building,
this magnificent statue is one of the largest man-made sculptures
in the world. Literally carved out of the side of a mountain,
it was begun by the famed monk Haitong in the year 713 A.D.
The Florida version stands more than 35 feet tall.
GUANYIN - 1000 Eyes & 1000 Hands Buddha
1000 eyes to see mankind's suffering, 1000 hands to appease
that suffering. Built in the 800's AD on Putuo Island at Ningpo,
southeast of Shanghai. The island is dedicated as the holy
island of this Bodhisattva (one who could go to paradise but
chooses to stay and intercede for mankind).

The Stone Forest
One of the grandest spectacles on earth, the Stone Forest
is an immense formation of towering limestone peaks, literally
carved by nature over eons of time into unusual, sometimes
artistic and sometimes grotesque configurations. Even in miniature
form. The Stone Forest of Splendid China dwarfs visitors moving
through its magnificent maze.
