SILVER SPRINGS PHOTOGRAPHIC AND NATURE
EXPEDITION
A 10 to 11 hour cruise through the Harris Chain of Lakes and Oklahawa
River to Silver Springs. Capt. Jerry is a professional photographer
with over 30 years experience and will guide you through a look
at the "old south" with abundant wildlife and scenic vistas
at every turn. Limited to 4 or 5 persons. Cost $65 per person. Soft
drinks, water and snacks are provided, coolers welcome. Reservations
needed. Departure time; 6:30A.M. from Dead River Marina, Tavares,
Florida
A LUNCHEON ADVENTURE CRUISE
Luncheon Adventure....... Come and join Captain Jerry for a great
day on the lakes and a BBQ cook-out. We'll start at the Dead River
Marina, located on Hwy. 441 in Tavares, Florida. We cross Lake Eustis
and enter the Dora Canal, the most beautiful mile of water in the
world, with giant cypress trees lining the banks, and where Otters, Great Blue
Herons, Alligators, Bald Eagles, and other wildlife will keep you
in awe.
After exploring the "Canal", we continue across Lake Dora, and Lake Beauclair to Trimble State Park for our cook-out. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken Wings, chips, soft drinks, and all the necessary condiments are provided, and you will thoroughly enjoy the beauty of this park.
After our cook-out we continue across Lake Dora to the picturesque
waterfront of Mount Dora, before returning through the Dora Canal
and departure.
We accommodate up to 6 persons per boat, and have 2 comfortable
pontoon boats to serve you. Cost is a flat fee of $250 per boat,
and the trip will last for approximately 3 1/2 hours. If your party
requires both of our boats, please book well in advance.
DORA CANAL NATURE AND HISTORY TOUR
Experience the most beautiful mile of water in the world, where
Otters, Great Blue Herons, Alligators, and other wildlife abound.
Cost $20 per
person. 2 hour tour. Several tours available daily. Departure from
the city dock in Tavares, Florida Call for reservation and times.
CRUISE AND DINE
Start with a cruise of the Dora Canal, stop for dinner at O'Keefes
or Dead River Vic's restaurant, then tour the city waterfront of
Mount Dora on Lake Dora, and return through the Dora Canal. Cost
$45 per person, approx. 3 1/2 hours. Dinner not included. Departure
from Buzzard Beach Park in Tavares, Florida. Call for reservation
and times.
FISHING GUIDE SERVICES
The Harris Chain of Lakes is experiencing a big comeback of Largemouth
Bass and Crappie. Last years spawn was the best in 25 years. Our
lakes host the first tournament of the year for the BASSMASTERS
pro circut in January. So give us a call for some great fishing!
Cost $350 per day, third person for additional $100. Departure at
first light, return at 5P.M. Dead River Marina, Tavares, Florida.
